Dennis of Hottydeals.com recommends the product and he says, “The EOS 70D is recommended as it is new in the market released only in August 2013. It is a replacement of the EOS 60D. It comes out with better specifications than the previous model.”
Its focusing speed on stills and videos has improved and so with its Autofocus accuracy and consistency. Here are some features of Canon EOS 70D which 60D does not have:
  • A Built-in Wi-Fi
  • Multi-Exposure Mode
  • HDR
  • 3” Vari-Angle Touch Screen
  • Full HD Movies
Some improved specifications from the old model are:

  • DIGIC 5+

Canon EOS 70D Features

Posted by Tanjung Uban Bintan

During the early days of digital SLRs, Canon was pretty much the undisputed leader in CMOS image sensor technology. Almost every new EOS model came with an increase in resolution and high ISO range, and when the EOS 7D appeared in late 2009, the company had progressed from 3MP to 18MP, and ISO 1600 to ISO 12800, in just over nine years. But since then Canon's APS-C cameras have all sported variants on the same basic sensor design, to the extent that you could be forgiven for wondering what on earth their engineers were doing all day. Now we know.

The EOS 70D is a mid-range SLR for enthusiast photographers that from the outside looks like a sensible, indeed desirable upgrade to the EOS 60D. It borrows many of the best bits from Canon's existing SLRs, including the autofocus sensor from the EOS 7D, the fully articulated touchscreen from the EOS 700D (Rebel T5i), and built-in Wi-Fi from the EOS 6D. But on the inside it sports an entirely new sensor that is, potentially, revolutionary. It offers 20.2MP resolution, but uses a 'Dual Pixel CMOS AF' design in which every single pixel is split into two separately-readable photodiodes, facing left and right. This means that in principle they are all capable of phase detection autofocus in live view and movie mode.

On-chip phase detection is nothing new - we first saw it in the Fujifilm F300EXR back in 2010. Since then it's been adopted in one form or another by most manufacturers, with arguably its most successful implementation coming in Nikon's 1 System mirrorless models. But because until now it's used relatively few active pixels scattered sparsely across the sensor, it's had practical limitations, often only covering a restricted area of the frame and struggling once the light drops below outdoor daylight levels.

Canon says that its Dual Pixel AF system, in contrast, works across an area 80% of the frame width and height, in light levels as low as 0 EV, and at apertures down to F11. This means it could well be the most capable live view autofocus system we've yet seen on any type of camera.
We'll look at the technology behind the EOS 70D's live view AF in more detail later, but let's not forget that it has to work as a conventional SLR too. To this end it uses the same 19-point AF sensor as the EOS 7D for viewfinder shooting, but with slightly simplified control options in firmware. It can rattle shots off at 7fps for up to 65 frames in JPEG or 16 in RAW, and its standard ISO range covers 100-12800, with ISO 25600 as an expanded option. Image processing is via the DIGIC 5+ processor first seen in the EOS 5D Mark III.
In terms of control layout the Canon EOS 70D is a logical evolution of the EOS 60D, adopting many of Canon's intervening updates and improvements. So it offers a full set of external controls to operate most key functions, and Canon's well-designed Quick Control screen to cover pretty much everything else. It also adopts the superb touchscreen interface that debuted on the EOS 650D (Rebel T4i), which we've found to be more useful than you might at first think. The 70D also regains an array of features that disappeared between the EOS 50D and 60D, such as AF microadjustment.

Canon EOS 70D is Coming

Posted by Tanjung Uban Bintan on Tuesday, February 5, 2013

Canon’s Masaya Maeda let it be know that a Canon EOS 70D would be coming “some day in the future. Without fail.” I’d expect one to be announced in the next 45-90 days depending on which report we go with.

What to expect feature wise? I’ve been told two contrasting theories about the upcoming camera. One, that it will be a relatively lateral upgrade to the EOS 60D, a few subtle improvements and priced around $1000.

The other reports that have leaked in, is the xxD line would return to where the 50D was in terms of build quality and size. We’d be going back to a more semi-professional style camera. If this happens, that would definitely change the EOS 7D’s place in the lineup.

Canon Inc. is a Japanese multinational company that specializes in manufacturing optical products such as digital cameras, computer printers, camcorders, photocopiers, and medical equipment. Based in Tokyo, Japan, the company was founded in 1937 by Takeshi Mitarai, Goro Yoshida, Saburo Uchid, and Takeo Maeda. Canon Inc. succeeded Precision Optical Instruments Laboratory. The company developed Japan's first-ever 35mm camera called Kwanon. Eventually the name of the company was changed to Canon in 1947.

Canon EOS 70D Confirmed For The Future By Chief Executive
Last year we reported on a rumor that Canon could be unveiling the EOS 70D this year along with other cameras. Now the good news is that for fans of Canon’s mid-ranged DSLRs like the 50D and 60D is that it looks like the 70D is a possibility, and this was admitted by Canon’s Managing Director and Chief Executive, Masaya Maeda in an interview.

When asked whether customers could look forward to a 70D camera in the future, Maeda answered in the positive, claiming that “someday in the future. Without fail.” Given that the rumor last year pegged the 70D’s release for 2013, hopefully that future will not be too far off. Unfortunately the specs of the 70D remain unknown at this point in time, but it is possible that the 70D might come with a full frame sensor instead of the APS-C found on the 60D.

Maeda revealed that he does not believe that larger sensors are necessarily the way to go, such as the likes of the Sony RX100. That combined with the fact that full frame cameras like the 6D are starting to become slightly more affordable, a full frame 70D might not be completely out of the question – but what do you guys think? Features and Specs of the Canon EOS 70D

Posted by Tanjung Uban Bintan

Before you read further, please note that there has been no official word from Canon around the successor of the EOS 60D. By reading further you acknowledge and understand that the information in this article is based on rumours and speculations collected from accross the web.

We will however update this page as soon as an official word gets out regarding the release of Canon EOS 70D. Canon EOS 70D is the latest cameras in the line of Canon XXD digital cameras to mark the years 2011 and 2012.

Canon EOS 70D is being built on the predecesor Canon EOS 60D which was launched in the summer of 2010. The normal refresh cycle of the Canon EOS XXD series is anywhere between 12 to 24 months. Considering the latest shut down of factories in Japan, it might be that the Canon 70D will be delayed until the year 2012.

Canon EOS 70D is expected in the consumer market sometimes between Summer 2011 and Summer 2012. Some of the expected features of the Canon EOS 70D include a 25MPixel image resolution in comparison with the 18MP of the 60D.

Other features and Specs of the Canon EOS 70D will follow as they get confirmed by the consumer electronics experts in the field of digital photography.
