Posted by Tanjung Uban Bintan on Wednesday, July 3, 2013

Previously rumored as the successor for Canon EOS 60D, now Canon EOS 70D officially introduced. It comes with the world’s first Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology, a phase-detection autofocus technology on the camera’s image sensor plane, which provides quiet and fast focusing in Live View as well as when shooting video.

Canon 70D boasts a 20.2 MP APS-C CMOS sensor which paired with the 14-bit DIGIC 5+ processor and 19-point all cross-type AF system to capture incredible, full resolution images at up to 7 fps. This camera is capable to record 1920 x 1080p full HD video in selectable 30, 25, or 24 fps frame rates.

It also features an ISO sensitivity range of 100 to 12800 (extendable to 25600), an Intelligent Viewfinder with 98% frame coverage and 0.95x magnification that allows photographers to comfortably frame their images and visualize settings via the electronic overlay, a 3” (1,040k dots) vary-angle clear view LCD II touch screen, and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Canon EOS 70D is Coming

Posted by Tanjung Uban Bintan on Tuesday, February 5, 2013

Canon’s Masaya Maeda let it be know that a Canon EOS 70D would be coming “some day in the future. Without fail.” I’d expect one to be announced in the next 45-90 days depending on which report we go with.

What to expect feature wise? I’ve been told two contrasting theories about the upcoming camera. One, that it will be a relatively lateral upgrade to the EOS 60D, a few subtle improvements and priced around $1000.

The other reports that have leaked in, is the xxD line would return to where the 50D was in terms of build quality and size. We’d be going back to a more semi-professional style camera. If this happens, that would definitely change the EOS 7D’s place in the lineup.

Canon Inc. is a Japanese multinational company that specializes in manufacturing optical products such as digital cameras, computer printers, camcorders, photocopiers, and medical equipment. Based in Tokyo, Japan, the company was founded in 1937 by Takeshi Mitarai, Goro Yoshida, Saburo Uchid, and Takeo Maeda. Canon Inc. succeeded Precision Optical Instruments Laboratory. The company developed Japan's first-ever 35mm camera called Kwanon. Eventually the name of the company was changed to Canon in 1947.

Canon EOS 70D Confirmed For The Future By Chief Executive
Last year we reported on a rumor that Canon could be unveiling the EOS 70D this year along with other cameras. Now the good news is that for fans of Canon’s mid-ranged DSLRs like the 50D and 60D is that it looks like the 70D is a possibility, and this was admitted by Canon’s Managing Director and Chief Executive, Masaya Maeda in an interview.

When asked whether customers could look forward to a 70D camera in the future, Maeda answered in the positive, claiming that “someday in the future. Without fail.” Given that the rumor last year pegged the 70D’s release for 2013, hopefully that future will not be too far off. Unfortunately the specs of the 70D remain unknown at this point in time, but it is possible that the 70D might come with a full frame sensor instead of the APS-C found on the 60D.

Maeda revealed that he does not believe that larger sensors are necessarily the way to go, such as the likes of the Sony RX100. That combined with the fact that full frame cameras like the 6D are starting to become slightly more affordable, a full frame 70D might not be completely out of the question – but what do you guys think?
